Lockdown delays halt theatre reopenings in Fife
Kirkcaldy's Adam Smith Theatre is to remain closed until June 2023 due to delays in renovation works.
Operator OnFife said the pandemic stalled the theatre's £3m refurbishment project, forcing the cancellation of this year's panto season.
Creative Development Director Michelle Sweeney added the theatre "shares the disappointment of all our customers", but said the decision was needed for "clarity on the way forward".
Three other theatres in Fife – Carnegie Hall, Rothes Halls and Lochgelly Centre – have also pushed back reopening, citing social distancing measures.
Lochgelly Centre is now looking to welcome back audiences in October, with Carnegie Hall and Rothes Halls waiting until December.
