Low pay forces performing artist to sleep under a bridge

Actor Elise Harris, who represents a London branch of Equity, said that a member of the trade union had ended up sleeping rough because he was unable to find accommodation within his means, despite working in the West End. A motion was passed at Equity’s recent annual conference calling on the union to provide support and funds when members are experiencing homelessness.
