A former mill is set to become Manchester’s newest music venue after being granted an entertainment licence by Bury Council.

The Den will be home to a “multi-purpose events space” according to licence applicants Den Contracts.

But the venue must improve fire escapes and alarms before opening. An initial application was objected by the local fire service.

Den Contracts' Samantha Ford said an agreement with the fire service is now in place and the venue hopes to open “in around three or four months’ time”.

The licence allows for the sale of alcohol and provision of entertainment until 3:30am each day “for the purpose of flexibility”, according to Ford.
