A match funding campaign has raised £2.7m for hundreds of arts charities across the UK.

The Arts for Impact campaign, run by the Big Give, ran online from 18 to 25 March.

The organisation matches donations from members of the public with those from larger donors such as businesses, foundations and philanthropists – effectively doubling people’s contributions.

This year, 286 charities raised funds through 13,672 donations. The project that raised the largest amount this year was the Music Works, which received £43,950 to provide accessible music programmes to young people with the highest need.

Meanwhile, a campaign run by English National Opera raised £36,678 to expand an award-winning breath retraining programme, working with people recovering from the effects of Covid, to Manchester.

Arts for Impact also ran last year, raising £2.9m for 238 organisations.
