The government has announced £24.8m of funding for the fourth round of the Museum Estates and Development (MEND) Fund.

Twenty-nine museums across the country will receive grants, supporting them to carry out infrastructure projects and address maintenance backlogs.

The recipients include Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire (£2.5m), Tamworth Castle in Staffordshire (£1.7m), and Queen Street Mill in Burnley, Lancashire (£813,115).

The MEND fund is open to accredited museums in England that are not directly funded by DCMS. The government says it can be used for purposes such as improving access and environmental conditions, unlocking income-generating opportunities, and providing a better experience for visitors and staff.

A fifth round of the fund will be allocated in the next financial year.
