More outdoor spaces to be offered for cultural sector activities in Wales
More people will be encouraged to value nature and outdoor spaces through creative activity under a new agreement between Natural Resources Wales (NRW) and the Arts Council of Wales (ACW). As set out in a memorandum of understanding, 'The Creative Nature' partnership aims to deliver projects that will increase economic activity in parts of the country where the benefits are most needed, and to help people access the natural environment and the arts in ways that will benefit their health and wellbeing.
NRW is promising to support the cultural sector to adopt sustainable practices and mitigate environmental impacts, and it will make the public land that it manages available to the cultural sector as a venue or resource for research and development wherever possible. The initiative will help both partners to deliver the aims of the Well-being of Future Generations Act, under which public bodies have a duty to to improve the environmental, cultural, economic, social, physical and mental well-being of the people of Wales.
