Nandy announces next phase of CoSTAR creative tech network
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has announced the next phase of UKRI’s Convergent Screen Technologies and performance in Realtime (CoSTAR) programme.
Established with £75.6m of AHRC funding, CoSTAR is a UK-wide network of creative technology labs to provide researchers and companies with innovative facilities to develop screen and performance technology.
As part of CoSTAR’s enterprise and commercialisation programme, £3m will be allocated to support the growth of creative technology businesses by lowering barriers to entry and building capacity.
A further £3.6m will go to the CoSTAR piloting and prototyping programme to test, demonstrate and develop the benefits of the CoSTAR infrastructure to ensure that firms can access equipment, technologies, facilities and expertise.
