National Theatre venue partnership scheme to conclude
The National Theatre’s Theatre Nation Partnerships (TNP) scheme will end this year, the venue has said.
Convened by the National Theatre in 2017, the national network comprises theatres and creative organisations in 13 priority areas of England, established with the aim of strengthening their relationships with local audiences, schools, and communities.
A spokesperson for the National Theatre told The Stage that unlike its primary schools touring programme which was axed last year due to the “challenging financial landscape” the scheme was intended to conclude in its current form in 2025.
A spokesperson for the National Theatre said: “Through TNP, the National Theatre has established a brilliant collaborative network of theatres and arts organisations, and we are in active conversation with our partners and Arts Council England about what comes next.
“We are deeply committed to engaging with first-time theatre-goers and working as partners to strengthen relationships with local audiences, schools and communities.
“We will be able to share more about our plans for future national partnership working later in 2025 and until then look forward to the upcoming full year of exciting and enriching activity.”
