‘Safeguarding concerns’ behind closure of Eastbourne theatre

East Sussex County Council has not renewed the lease for the operators of the Under Ground Theatre and all future events at the 150-seat venue have been cancelled. A source told The Stage that this was prompted by ‘safeguarding concerns’.
