Staff cuts at National Portrait Gallery as visits fall

Audiences at the gallery fell by more than a third last year and 24 members of staff – 7% of the workforce – left in a voluntary process. The gallery said the move was part of plans to “streamline core costs” and ensure the gallery is “as efficient as possible”.
