Stockport museums face closure

Stockport Council is consulting on a major restructure of its museum service that could include reduced opening hours, increased admission fees, and the closure of Stockport Museum and Chadkirk Chapel to try to save £150,000. Staff at the council's seven museum sites have reportedly been put on redundancy notice.
