Survey reveals struggles for Berlin’s artistic community

A poll of 1,745 Berlin-based artists finds just 24% of men and 19% of women can survive on their art alone. It also uncovers a gender pay gap of 28%, with women artists earning an average of €8,390 a year, compared to €11,662 for their male counterparts.
