A performing arts venue housed in a former church has appealed for donations to fix its ailing heating system.

The managers of Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge Wells told BBC they have already received donations of £25,000 but need a further £37,000 to install a new energy-efficient heating system, as the current one is “failing and won’t last through the winter”.

A statement issued by the theatre said: “We need your help to keep Trinity warm and heat the auditorium.

“Without effective heating, we will not be able to offer the warm sense of community to the wide spectrum of the local population who are welcomed though our doors every week.”
