Town Council funds £3,000 opera

Exmouth Town Council has agreed to sponsor a Royal Opera House performance in nearby East Devon this summer. Supportive councillors said it would provide a welcome opportunity for local families to view the arts, although the motion was opposed by Deputy Mayor Brian Bailey, who said the town already has a “free and very successful” festival.
