Visa crackdown will damage Festivals’ reputation, directors warn

A clampdown on visas led to a dozen authors facing unprecedented barriers to visiting the Edinburgh International Book Festival this year, according to director Nick Barley, who had to work with MPs, MSPs, the British Council and Home Office staff to enable them to attend the festival.
